Spring is here and now is a good time of year to get a radiator service before the hot summer months are here. Protect your engine from overheating and keep your car running smoothly. To maintain your vehicle's cooling system to keep it from blowing off steam, it is wise to periodically take care of these essential radiator service items:
- Every 15,000 miles
- Inspect and adjust belts and hoses;
- Inspect radiator, water pump, core plugs, and hoses for leakage;
- Check pressure cap;
- Every 30,000 miles or as needed
- Replace belts and hoses;
- Replace the pressure cap;
- Drain, flush and refill the cooling system
- As recommended by your auto mechanic
- Clean deposits from the entire coolant system;
- Remove the old anti-freeze and replace with new clean anti-freeze;
- Use additives increase the proper flow of coolant;
- Use coolant conditioner additive to help revitalize gaskets and seals which may prevent overheating and breakdowns.
