If your tire repair technician is recommending new tires, then you should probably go ahead and get them. There are times when tire repair simply doesn't make a tire safe. It doesn't matter if you just got the tires and they get a hole torn into them by the asphalt. Many people believe that getting a tire repair will fix it completely, and you don't have to worry about it anymore. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

When considering whether a tire repair is enough, or whether you should purchase new tires, the first consideration should be based on how quickly you recognized a problem and how fast you responded to it before any further damage was incurred, such as to the wheel rims or suspension system.

The second consideration of either repairing a tire or getting a new set, is to confirm the type of problem and how large or small the scrape or hole is. If there are large punctures or long straight cuts and odd gashes, then you may not be able to get it repaired. For safety's sake, replacing a tire that is that has gone flat may be your best option.

If you go to your tire service center and they tell you it's a toss-up of whether you should keep it or toss it, you should probably be on the safe side and toss it. It will cost more up-front, but just remember that the next time that tire goes, you could be on the highway. It is possible that you could cause injury to yourself or other motorists.

Drivers must be aware that tire repair is not always the best choice. If the puncture is fairly large or too deep, then you should probably buy new tires
